My guest judge this week is Gabrielle Kimm who is the author of His Last Duchess and The Courtesan’s Lover. You can find out more about Gabrielle on her website. I have read both of these novels and have to worn you that these are not light weight historical fiction but very gripping and racy. Not to be left lying about where young children can find them. *ahem* Anyway, that’s enough about me and my nosey children….I’ll hand you over to Gabrielle herself now… *nods*
Well, I feel very honoured to have been asked to judge one of Denyse’s wonderful *snerk* competitions. It was really hard to choose a winner – I found everyone’s caption really funny, but I’ve picked Alan’s, about Simon Cowell’s autobiography as the best of the lot. Well done, Alan!
I hope you enjoy your prize! ‘The Courtesan’s Lover’ is my second book – it appeared on the shelves at the end of 2011. It’s the story of Francesca, a fiercely ambitious woman who aims to (to quote her manservant) “seduce the reluctant, enthrall the enthusiastic and exhaust the unprepared” in her determination to rise to the heights of the world of the courtesan. Fiction being what it is, of course, though, her attempts are not as straightforward as she expects at the outset. Happy reading!
Thanks again, Denyse, for inviting me to be a guest judge on your blog!
